YouTube Live also includes tools such as live chat, Q&A sessions, and polls to encourage users to chat and ask questions. These tools can help content creators build an engaged community around their content.

Another advantage of YouTube Live is the ability to monetise your content through Super Chat and YouTube memberships, and ads. Still, there are requirements to get ad ready, and you could end up selling a competitor product! 

This is an appealing feature for streamers who want to monetise their content. However, while YouTube Live has monetisation options, they may not be as robust as those on other platforms, such as Twitch.

It is important to note, however, that YouTube Live has some limitations. YouTube Live streams are limited to 8 hours, which is fine for most uses, but it could be problematic if it’s a day-long event.

Twitch is a popular live-streaming platform that is primarily used by gamers. Still, you can use it just as well if you’re a business.

The platform is well-known for its built-in audience and numerous monetisation options. In this section, we will look at Twitch’s unique features and how they can be used to achieve specific goals.

Facebook also allows you to schedule live videos, create events, and then invite users who follow your page. They have notifications that will alert people that flow that you have gone live. 

Facebook Live also provides interactive tools such as Live Reactions, Live Comments, and Live Q&A to increase audience engagement. These tools can help businesses and content creators create an engaged community around their content. 

Facebook Live has limitations; of course, streams are limited to four hours in length, which can be inconvenient for businesses or content creators who want to host more extended events. 

The monetisation options on Facebook Live aren’t as good as those on other platforms. Still, Facebook Live has a broader audience than other platforms, such as Twitch.

LinkedIn Live

LinkedIn Live is a new live-streaming platform that allows users to broadcast live video content on LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking website. 

Professionals, businesses, and thought leaders use the platform to share their “expertise”, connect with their network, and grow their brands through unsolicited emails and DM’s. Still, it’s the only business platform that works. 

LinkedIn Live’s professional focus is one of its distinguishing features. And it\ will connect with members of your professional network and communicate with them in real-time. You can also use LinkedIn Live to schedule live events and create a personalised landing page for your live stream. 

This makes it useful for companies, professionals, and thought leaders interested in hosting live events.

LinkedIn Live also includes interactive tools like Live Q&A, polls, and live chat to increase audience engagement. Professionals, businesses, and thought leaders who want to build an engaged community around their content will find these tools useful like the other platforms. 

YOu can turn your live streaming into income generators by using the LinkedIn Learning features and other features that they say are development.

It is important to note, however, that LinkedIn Live is still a relatively new platform and may have a smaller audience than other platforms. 

LinkedIn Live also has some limitations, such as that it is only available to a limited number of users and is only available in some places.

However, it is important to note that Instagram Live has some limitations. Instagram Live streams are limited to 60 minutes, which can be inconvenient, to say the least. However, this may have changed recently.

Paid Livestreaming Platforms

 Several paid live-streaming platforms, including BetterCast, Vimeo, and Dacast, provide additional features and greater control over the social-only live-streaming experience. 

These platforms are intended for professional use and are appropriate for businesses and organisations that require more advanced options than free social media platforms. 

BetterCast provides live streaming, on-demand video, webinars, conferences, and events. It is appropriate for companies and organisations that host webinars, virtual conferences, and live events. BetterCast provides interactive tools like live Q&A, polls, and live chat to increase audience engagement. It also supports monetisation via registration fees and pay-per-view options.

On the other hand, Vimeo is a video hosting service that offers live streaming and on-demand video without platform features.

It’s more suited to embedded videos into existing sites. Still, Vimeo also has tools like question-and-answer, polls, and live chat. They do, though, allow you to monetise your content via subscriptions and pay-per-view options.

It’s essential to understand the critical differences between these paid options. The free social media platforms mentioned previously provide more advanced features and control over the live-streaming experience but at a cost. As a result, weigh the benefits of paid options against your budget to see if they align with your goals.

For example, BetterCast provides live streaming, on-demand video, and webinars. It is the most flexible option for any objective. Vimeo offers live streaming, video on demand, and video hosting. Another paid option is Dacast, which provides live streaming, on-demand video, and video hosting, as well as additional features such as white-label solutions, detailed analytics, and monetisation options.
